Though I’m not quite sure how it all started, I’ve known for years that a passion of mine has always been decorating and interior design. I would always love to look at different patterns, architecture, fabrics, lighting, and more when it came to dreaming of my perfect home. When I was in high school I knew that that’s what I wanted to be when I grew up. And once again, not quite sure how that happened, I completely forgot all about it! I studied advertising in college and since then I deviated from my original passion.
And lately, something about my daily obsession with Pinterest has made me realize, that maybe I do need to work on bringing that part of me back to life. I’ve always had such a creative mindset, from writing, to photography, to fashion, to design…so why not put all of that together and embark on a new adventure and try something fresh. I’m still young, and I’m only getting older. Ew.
So as of late, I’ve been looking into routes and options to explore this forgotten passion of mine, I’ll be sure to keep you updated!
Okay, so Pinterest has really done something to me and I’m not too entirely sure how I feel about it…wait, that’s a lie. I’m totally okay with it taking over my life. I mean really, it has EVERYTHING. I get a lot of really great ideas from Pinterest, and I also get inspired! If you’re not following me, you probably should because let’s face it, my boards are awesome. Ha! Just kidding, well no really I do think they’re pretty great. But I digress…
Anyways, the point of this post is just to share with you a few of my interests so you can get to know me a little better. I try to keep my personal life off of social media, because honestly what platform do you know that hasn’t ruined someone’s life? None. My point exactly. But still, I like to have a little fun and open up in a unique way. I’ve always been a fan of meeting new people, strangers, close friends, whatever it may be…I just love organic and genuine change!
So with Pinterest, you can literally see the things I like! From food, travel, shoes, clothes, more food, more fashion, it goes on….here’s a peak!
I have a passion for fashion, travel, photography, cooking, decorating, and so much more. So I hope that you enjoy a little look into the things that make me smile!
As I was thinking about ideas on decorating my new apartment (bee-tee-dub move in day is tomorrow holla!) I was checking out some DIY tips on YouTube and found this one. Though this is over the top in pink for me, I am diggin’ the organizational tips because I can get a little OCD when it comes to organizing!
As I recently shared the news with you that I will be moving into my new apartment on the first of March (woohoo!), I was thinking of some design ideas to utilize. Since this will be our first apartment, I am getting super anxious and excited, that all I do is window shop online of all these great ideas to decorate with.
The color palette that we’ve chosen is shades of brown and shades of blue. Which makes decorating a litte easier because a lot of my stuff from college is blue. We’re thinking of a chocolate and latte combination with hints of baby blue and teal.
The other day I stumbled upon this super cute bedspread for so cheap! I need to go into the store so I can feel the material before I buy it. But it matches our colors perfectly!
A design tool that I saw on Bath Crashers on the DIY Network looked super fun and exciting that I may want to try around the whole place…in moderation of course. They had this little snippet of how to use and create Wall Treatments to add a touch of character. I love this funky design here. But I was thinking something like these:
I absolutely LOVE the chalkboard one. That will probably definitely go up by our kitchen area so we can leave notes for each other and make a grocery list!
If you know of any great decorating ideas or places where to find quality (yet affordable) furniture, decorations, and more….please contact me! I love finding little hole in the wall places that have so much to offer! 🙂
P.S. Did I mention that our new home has a walk score of 85!?! Talk about plenty of great new places to explore!
